I know the switch bot hub 2 has an ir blaster but I couldn’t find it if it was learning. I’ve also looked at broad link blasters because they are so cheap. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Yes. You'd have to buy the Harmony Hub that has both IR and RF blasters. You can then connect Smartthings to it to do some nice lighting effects, if you choose to go that route. Allow us to reintroduce Hub 2, which is an intuitive smart home hub that better supports Matter, and now also includes universal infrared support for Matter too. Matter presents IR blasters as an off/on wall socket.
You can do it with the harmony hub - The harmony elite remote has 4 buttons on the very bottom. The two on the left side have a light bulb icon on them and the two on the right side have plug icon. These are home control buttons and can control devices independently of activities. Broadlink is great - It allows for IR and RF. So has a wide range of uses. Smartthings is a solid hub, but if you really want to get into automation and are comfortable with programming and tech, definitely consider setting up a system with home Assistant.
The SmartThings Hub is a ZigBee/Z-Wave home automation gateway STH-ETH011. An FCC ID is the product ID assigned by the FCC to identify wireless products in the market. The FCC chooses 3 or 5 character "Grantee" codes to identify the business that created the product.
SmartThings hubs act as the brain of your smart home - allowing you to add and control Zigbee, Z-Wave, and LAN-connected devices. The SmartThings app is used to set up and control any SmartThings enabled hub you own. For instance, when you lock your smart lock, a smart home hub can tell your lights to turn off, and your thermostat to go into eco mode.
