A temporary suspension of the smart card system was put into effect at the Pune RTO office, lasting for a span of 15 days. Unfortunately, this hiatus resulted in over 50,000 drivers grappling with the non-receipt of their crucial RCs and vehicle licenses.From August 21 onwards, smart card production will commence simultaneously at the RTO offices in Mumbai, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Nagpur.
