Just take the xd card out of the adapter & use a modern multi-card reader, which most people making beats probably already have. If you're going to play around with a lot of older digicams, you can get card readers that read multiple styles of card. That way you'll have the reader already if you pick up a few more cameras. SmartMedia is on its way out, as far as digicams are concerned. It was used by Olympus and FujiFilm, but now they introduced a new standard (xD Picture card), and all their new cameras use this.
Going to order my 2800Z and either a 64 or 128MB Card to go with it. Just wondering if there is a huge difference in quality or speed between manufacturers. I can pick up a Mr. Flash 128 for less than half of some of the other 64's. Does anyone know of ways/devices to put old SmartMedia cards to use? I mail-ordered a digital picture frame from Costco that was advertised as taking "SM cards" but when I got it the card slots indicated that SM cards wouldn't fit!
